The boat was designed and built at UMaine’s Advanced Structures and Composites Center (ASCC), under executive director Habib Dagher. University, federal and defense officials attended the launch and on-water demonstration in Hampden, including University of Maine System Chancellor Dannel Malloy, UMaine President Joan Ferrini-Mundy, U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, and Keith DeVries, Manufacturing Technology (ManTech) Director at the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
