The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently banned the sale in the US of “almost all” new mobile robots sourced from foreign countries. IEEE Spectrum (the link in the first sentence) notes that there are certain exceptions, “…including systems weighing under 2 kilograms and any system that communicates at less than 200 kilobits per second…” The ban is set to go into effect on January 1, 2028.
